What's your opinion?

Are you an opinionated person? I kind of am. There are plenty of subjects that I think should be discussed and be deeply evaluated. For example the legalization of marijuana and other drugs. I personally think the consumption and cultivation of certain recreational substances should be allowed, I consider that would regulate a market for it, as well as it would help to eradicate narcotics trafficking, giving the opportunities for a safe purchase and for new businesses to grow.   Or maybe we could speak about personal choice regarding tattoos. If you ask me, I like them because they are a way for a person to express itself on its own body. And even though they were frowned upon back in the day, nowadays they are very common amongst people, which shows that society is willing to accept the fact that tattooed people can be just as responsible and professional as any other.   Lately I have been thinking about less nicer realities too, like child labor. I believe that is not accept...

Changes for our art faculty

Image
Although the most part of my career I have studied it online, I can say that I love studying Arts. But the little bit of time I could attend to the faculty, I saw so many deficiencies that made me upset, because the university doesn’t take over for infrastructure’s problems, supposedly for lack of money ¬¬ That said, if it were up to me, I would change the roof to take out all the asbestos, I would expand the auditorium and every classrooms and I would condition them with thermal and acoustic insulation, I would provide each workshop with the necessary implements for its development, I would redesign all the water system and the sewer to prevent flooding, I would change the lockers and I would install more bicycle parks. We need a lot of improvement that would help us to perform better. Now, moving on to another topic, I think perhaps teachers need to reevaluate their teaching and evaluation methods (or maybe we need new teachers hehe), because we are immersed in a system that over...

Let's go to the future

Image
Can you imagine to be able to jump in time to anywhere you wish like in the movies? Well, If the time machine were invented, I need to say that I really hope that it would be a toaster like in The Simpsons, but with fewer consequences haha If I had a time machine, I’d like to go to the future, because I think I would really enjoy discovering the unknow. But I fear to the idea of going too far in time and not find anything more than dust and ashes, so I’d plan my trip to a nearby destination, maybe to 2050. Where? I’d go to Japan! Because this country already seems to be living in the future and imagine what the future Japan will bring it blows my mind. I’d like to take my brother with me and be out there in the streets of Tokyo, wearing fashionable clothing appropriate to survive the weather conditions, blinded by skyscraper lights, admiring the giant robots, listening openings at every step, and visiting every tower dedicated to anime. Basically, playing the make-believe of fi...

Art and future (blogs 4 and 5)

When I was a child, I had never imagined that I would be an artist. I really wanted to be a Preschool Teacher. Yeah, I know. I remember that I admired my teachers so much and that I wanted to wear a green apron like them someday. But when I started to study that career at the Catholic University in 2017, I realized that the study environment was too competitive, and in addition to that I also crossed over a difficult moment, I was depressive and anxious, so I preferred to take care of myself and resigned the career. After that, I took a year meanwhile I was deciding what career was the best for me. I evaluated studying architecture, design, or arts, but I really wanted to enjoy the process of studying more than the future money or stability. So far, I’ve had a great experience studying Visual Arts until now. At first, I was very insecure. Every time I saw my classmates’ artworks, I felt no jealousy, but I felt so inferior, because I did not have as much experience as most of them. As t...

My childhood

I’ve always been a fan of pasta. I remember when I was a child, my mom used to prepare three-minutes noodles for me as lunch before my lessons in kindergarten. At that time, I didn´t know it was instant pasta and I thought those noodles were a fancy dish because of their shape! My favorite flavor was chicken soup, I really enjoyed it sooo much. Nowadays, every time I eat instant noodles, I feel warmth within my belly and heart. One of my favorite memories it’s around the same times, and it also involves food haha. I don’t know why, but I was in home only with my dad. My mom and my brother were not present. Anyway, that morning my dad and I were dressed in the same clothes, white basic tank top and underwear. We were at the kitchen, and he brought me warm milk with sugar for breakfast. It had a lot of sugar, so when I finished the milk, I could see some sugar in the bottom of the cup. I remember that moment, I felt very lucky, so I couldn´t say I had finished it, because I thought if ...

The best concert I’ve had

Image
I remember that moment clearly. I was 10 and I was curious to find some music that define myself, so I got on the Internet and started watching popular videos. Then I see her, Rihanna. I was fascinated by her voice and beauty. I became obsessed with her for years! And how not? SHE’S A QUEEN OF POP!! Since then, I had the hope to hear her live. Thankfully, my dream came true in 2015. She finally announced she would come to Santiago on September, so I quickly bought my ticket to see her in the National Stadium. That day, my mother picked me out of school early and we went home so I could change my clothes. Later, she took me to the stadium, and I was waiting in line for four hours or more. I needed to see her at any cost! When I managed to enter to the stadium, the people ran excited to find a good place to see the show, so I had to run too. When the concert started, the lights tourned off and the people were screaming so loud, including myself, of course. I was so excited that I could f...

Valdivia: the best place I've ever been to.

Do you know that feeling of belonging somewhere but also discovering something new every time? I really don’t know how to explain it, but I will try. When I was a child, I used to travel every summer to Valdivia with my maternal grandparents. I don’t remember with certainty, but we started to traveling to this city around 2008, maybe before. Valdivia is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. Why? Well, you have so many places to visit there, so you can take a tour around the center, the fields, the beaches, the restaurants, the regional fairs, the festivals, the forests, the hills, the rivers, the lagoons and more. Also, you can see a starry night. Can you imagine that? It’s full of different and impressive types of landscapes! I have a lot of memories about Valdivia, because despite I came to know that area like the back of my hand, every summer I could have the possibility to see new magnificent locations and try so tasty dishes. Personally, I stopped going there s...
